Settings

CoCo’s settings are in two places at the top right: “⚙ Settings” (library, model folders, generating and more) and “◐ Appearance & language”.

Settings are divided into sections. Sections with unsaved changes are marked with a dot; “Save” saves every section at once, and “Revert” discards unsaved changes.

Item Description
Output folder Where generated, refined and exported images are saved (in date folders according to the file name format). It’s added to the library folders automatically if needed. Existing images stay where they are; move them with “Move / copy” in the library if you like
Library folders Folders the library scans, including subfolders. The library is rescanned after saving
Keep Generate’s LoRAs when applying a prompt When on, “Apply prompt” in the viewer keeps the LoRAs in Generate’s prompt instead of loading this image’s LoRAs
Copy LoRAs with the prompt When on, clicking a prompt in the viewer to copy it also adds the LoRAs the image used
Delete images directly When on, “Move to trash” becomes “Delete”: files are deleted outright and can’t be recovered

Moving the output folder to another drive doesn’t slow down generating, but keep your model files on an SSD. Avoid sync folders such as Dropbox, or every new image will be uploaded.

Item Description
File names Separate file name formats for generated images, Output edits (single and batch export) and collages (see below)
Face fix after generating “Keep the image before face fix” and “Strength”; see Face fix
Quality “Use the CPU for noise”, “Use a 32-bit VAE”, “Store the main model in fp8”, “Rebalance after weighting” and “Skip negative prompt in later steps” (see below)
Compare “Send to Compare after generating”: when 2 or more images are generated at once, a comparison set is created after the batch. “Auto-archive”: automatically created sets are archived after a period without being opened

Click a variable above to insert it: date, time, number, seed, width, height, model, sampler, steps, CFG, prompt, LoRA, year, month, day, original name.

  • Text before / is a folder (inside the output folder).
  • Add :number after a variable to set its length: {seq:4} pads the number to 4 digits, {prompt:30} takes the first 30 characters of the prompt.
  • Numbers continue from those already in the same folder; when a name is taken, -2, -3 and so on are added, so old images are never overwritten.
  • The next file name is previewed below. “Reset to default” restores the original format.
Item Description
Use the CPU for noise Generates the initial noise on the CPU (on by default). When off, the graphics card generates it and the same seed gives a different composition
Use a 32-bit VAE Only affects the VAE built into SDXL models. When on, results are identical to 32-bit, but each image uses about 5 GB more graphics memory; when off (the default), results are almost the same and use less memory
Store the main model in fp8 The main model takes about half the graphics memory. Much smoother on computers with less graphics or system memory, slightly slower when memory is plentiful; images differ slightly from when it is off, so turn it off to reproduce earlier seeds. Model files that are already fp8 or int8 are not affected
Rebalance after weighting When you weight words with syntax like (word:1.2): on (the default), weighted words get stronger and the others slightly weaker; off, only the weighted words get stronger. Images differ between on and off. Only affects SDXL and SD 1.5
Skip negative prompt in later steps For steps with noise below this value, every other step uses only the positive prompt, so generation is faster and details differ slightly from off. 0 turns it off (the default); 1.5 is common (about 10% faster at 1024×1344, 28 steps). Only affects SDXL and SD 1.5

When you press “Send to Generate” in the library, SDXL and SD 1.5 images switch the last two settings to match the image, and the generate panel says what changed.

Item Description
CoCo’s model folder The folders by purpose and their file counts; “Open” opens one (see Getting models)
Main model folder The folder that holds all your models; subfolders are categorized by name automatically, and you can fix categories in the table
Download models The trial model, plus the VAEs and text encoders each architecture needs
WD14 model for tagging, JoyCaption for descriptions Model folders used for tagging and writing descriptions in training (see Tagging)
Extra folders Additional folders by type (models, LoRA, VAE, encoders, embeddings)

“Reference sources”: besides the library, Explore also searches these places for similar images. Add ordinary folders, or an Eagle library (read-only; nothing in Eagle is changed). For an Eagle library, check the folders to use; subfolders are included, and checking none means the whole library.

Item Description
Default tags Tags filled in each time you save to Eagle, separated by commas
Tag sets Save tags you often use together as a set. When saving, click a set’s name to add the whole set, click again to remove it
Also save the prompt as tags By default, splits the prompt into one tag per word when saving (weights and LoRAs are left out)
Tags to skip Tags not saved when the prompt is saved as tags; useful for quality tags that every image has. Case, underscores and spaces don’t matter when matching

“Thumbnail width (px)”, “Images per load” and “Port”: changes apply after restarting CoCo.

“Install”: whether this is the full or the light install (see Install and first launch). On a light install, press “Switch to full install”, then close and reopen CoCo to install the rest.
